Finish Line

It was a relieved as we crossed the finish line hand in hand to the completion of our journey for the IAA competition. We pant and sweat along the way, but no doubt our group has emerged as one of the chosen top 6 to enter into the IAA competition. We endured many hardship, we learnt, we accepted mistakes humbly and it was all worthwhile at the end.

We manage to pull it through during the presentation stage, the cat almost caught my tongue but I call upon my hidden courage to surpass that feeling of nervousness, and I believe my group made it out pretty well. To be forthright I was proud to be part of this team. Even though, I may be from a different background, but communications and understanding wise were never barriers in between us. We worked out well, we agreed, we respected and we believed each other, by this I presume that is how we had accomplished well as a team and proudly to say again, we had succeeded and achieved it. During these past 6 weeks, I don't recall we had ever argued once about any of our discussion, we practically share the same thoughts to proceed with our individual work scope respectively and professionally.

I am going to miss the fun and craziness we had, but I have made friends and we'll remain as friends.

Closing In

Time is catching up as we get closer to the end of this IAA campaign. It has been a rewarding and knowledgeable experience as I moved ahead with better understanding of an agency. At the same time, I made new friends, anticipate some great challenges along the way, swimming through the strong currant of responsibilities that were given to us.

We grew together as a team and we appreciate every laughter and labour we had put through to achieve this final moment of our campaign. There was never a down side working with this marvellous team of mine, we definitely faced some difficulties along the way, but we manage to solve it and drilled through those hard walls standing against our paths.

We are all born with this optimistic mindset, we don't give up easily, we are determined; we believed the work we have discussed, the creative, the outcome of it, and the presentation for the very last stage that will bring us passed the surface of anxiety. We knew this is going to work, we are going to be one of the top 6, and we are the best. It all comes down to 'all for one, and one for all.' Success is just a few steps ahead, as we carried and shared each other crosses, and we will walk to the finish line together as a group.

Peak-a-boost

What a pace we are in. We have finally reached the peak week of the semester, time is running out for our IAA campaign as we struggle further to give our very best to make it a 'fantastic' one. Creative has started to develop as I am typing here at this very moment. Things are getting more and more intense. During the week, our group had sat down in deep discussion on how we should proceed and strengthen our creative ideas better. It is definitely ok to have idea first and worked backwards as that's what our group members are doing, and it is also important to specify our target audience as this will direct us the correct path for the creative.

Our group members are much focused, we worked as a team and we agreed with each other mutually. So basically, we did this together with one mind coming from few different backgrounds and talents to form greater works and achieved greater heights. It's time to take a boost and step out of the box.

To Brand Oneself

its the forth week and still counting down! I have just posted this up on facebook, "try not to end every sentence with a 'full-stop'! Explore and express yourself instead; life is not a 'dead end'!" what I have learn in class for this week is, we do not have to sit down to think logically and theoretically all the time to create a campaign. Research is important but it plays just a small role in a campaign for us to get the engine started. After understanding and evaluating the situation, the progress of the creativity will be much more crucial as it sends and spreads out messages to the people around. It also helps to portray and brand oneself to register as a long term memory in a human mindset.

With this we used the creativity of an idea to promote and advertise a certain service or a product. This should be the main focus and objectives in every campaign, as it is like oxygen to breathe and to make the whole progress live and workable. It also feels like climbing up a mountain and reaching at the peak of it, which is the point of success at the top of the hills. Even though it's tiring and stressful at time, but it is well worth when a certain campaign manage to succeed to drill the message across to the target audience and the consumers mind into taking action of purchased and embarked on it.

The Bull's Eye

As time goes by, climate in Australia is getting warmer as we are now close to the end of the winter season. Loads on assignment are getting heavier each week. The tension we have is getting tighter as we try tohustle to complete the assignment to meet the date line. This is what advertising is all about, getting under pressured; working real hard to meet ends, and at the same time to please the client's needs.

Basically what we have learnt this week is about Target Audience. Without a doubt, TA is one of the pivotal key to a successful campaign. To have an accurate shot ahead and to refrain from making blunder, we must aim, before we pull the trigger. Group members sat down and have a thorough discussion about it. We evaluate to understand, as we try to advertise and promote the "Assistance Dog Australia" to them. To apprehend further into this, we sorted it out by breaking it into a few section like their demographic, psychographic, social graphic, and culture background. As we got deeper into it, ideas on creative started to form and visual right inside our very minds. I have this strong feeling, that this is going to be a good one. At the end of the day, we'll see.

What a Br--ief

Time sure flies as we get wiser and matured each week, it's now the second week of the semester. This week we have finally gotten our brief from the client, and 'woah' it is lengthy and wordy. During the tutorial class, we had a long discussion in our miniature agency to sort and extract the major information to narrow it down into our creative brief. Basically, we have to understand what is our client's needs and raise awareness to boost up this non-profitable organization. There is also one important role that plays a part in this campaign, that will be the Target Audience.

What I have exactly gain from class this week, is time management. It is important for us to plan and breakdown our individual work scope as this will help us to be more organize and have a faster and smoother progress in the project. Group members respectively have to contribute and co-operate to lead each other, discuss, set an agreement, and lastly take action to perform well as a group. Without each other, an agency will fall, each position is crucial. For example a tree without its root will not stand and live.

As for now, I always hope for the best for the next each day to come.

A New Beginning

As an international student, I couldn't help but to be excited as I begin my University life in a foreign land called Melbourne, Australia. When I first enrolled in RMIT for the Bac. of Comm. (Ad), I was anxious, mainly was the grades and status which I am going to experience over the whole semester.

The anxiety of mine was flushed away on the day when i stepped foot into Adv. Prof. Practice 1. In that class I was taught to think big, to aim higher, to achieve and succeed in my career life. We were then divided into groups during the tutorial class to form ourselves as a miniature agency to work out a project for an unprofitable organization called 'assistance dog'. This project is to challenge and bring us to a higher level, which is to be one of the top 6 among 12 other groups to enter into the "IAA" competition.

I believed and felt fortunate that I have landed myself as an 'Account Manager' in a "Winning" group. My team mates are friendly, spontaneous with chirpy spirits and creative minds. I am looking forward to a victorious and artistic outcome.
